How many children do you have in care?

I am licenced for six children. At any given time I am allowed no more than 4 children under the age of 2.

Are you registered with the state of South Dakota?

Yes. I comply with all Federal, State, and local directives governing in-home childcare. I am subject to random compliance inspections by the state and must complete at least 6 hours of annual training that include CPR and First Aid. I AM AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PROVIDER.

How long have you been in child care?

I began as a provider in March of 2010. I am also the eldest of seven children and have one beautiful daughter (featured all over the site lol).

What training/education do you have?

I must complete at least 6 hours of annual training and must at all times be current in CPR and First Aid. Professionally, I have an A.S. degree in Information Systems and a B.S. degree in Management.

What form of discipline method would you use for my child?

First offense: Warning
Second offense: Time out, one minute per age of child
Third offense: Reasoning, such as no activity that day



What would a typical day look like for my child?

7:30am - 8:00am: Parents dropping off children
8:30am: Breakfast
9:30am: Your Baby Can Read video
10:00am - 10:30am: Reading flash cards
11:30am - 12:30pm: Lunch
1:00pm - 3:00pm: Nap time or quiet time (please no drop off/pick up during this time)
3:00pm: Snack
3:30pm - 5:00pm: Outside play, Activities / Prepare children for pick-up

What meals/snacks do you offer?

Your children will be provided well balanced meals according to Youth & Family Services guidelines while in daycare. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Please have your children arrive at the appropriate times to be included for meals or be certain they have eaten if it is not possible to have them here in time:

Breakfast: arrive by 8:00am
Lunch: arrive by 11:30am
Snack: arrive by 3:00pm

What happens if my child is ill?

If your child becomes sick with a contagious illness (pink-eye, influenza, rota-virus, or other potentially contagious illness), it is required they visit a doctor and receive treatment or be non-contagious before returning to daycare. If child becomes ill while at daycare, a parent or guardian will need to arrange to have him/her picked up so that treatment can be sought.
